Colonial Parking® to Offer Guaranteed Spot Program to Commuters Impacted by Metro’s SafeTrack Program
WASHINGTON, D.C. — June 6, 2016 —Colonial Parking, Inc.®, Washington, D.C.’s largest parking operator, today announced the launch of a new reservation service aimed to provide some relief to commuters impacted by Metro’s year-long SafeTrack program. This service will allow Metro commuters who choose to travel to the District by car during the service disruptions to reserve guaranteed parking spaces ahead of their commute at standard rates at select Colonial Parking facilities.
“Colonial® supports a robust, convenient, and safe Metrorail system,” offered Andrew Blair, President and CEO of Colonial Parking. “As the largest parking provider in the region, we recognized the need to provide fair and reliable parking options for commuters who may need to use their cars as an alternative to Metro during the SafeTrack surges.”
Interested commuters should simply go to www.ecolonial.com/guaranteedparking, choose the general location for parking – e.g., Dupont Circle, NoMa – click on the desired parking facility and follow the simple directions to reserve a space at one of Colonial’s facilities. This service eliminates the added stress of finding parking after dealing with potential traffic traveling into the city.
As part of this service, Colonial will be providing up-to-date SafeTrack closure information on its website. “We know that many commuters will choose telework or utilize other mass transit options,” noted Colonial’s COO William Cook, “but we want to make sure that those commuters who need to travel by car during the service disruptions have some type of predictable parking option available.”
