Bio: Magaly started with Colonial in the Customer Care department as a Customer Care Associate and then moved over to the Operations side as an Assistant Project Manager at our Wharf locations. Most recently, she has taken over the role of Operations Coordinator and plays a crucial role in supporting our Operations team.

 


 

Tell me a little bit about yourself:

I’m originally from New York, but for the past two years I’ve called Maryland, my home. I’m a mother, a wife and a dog owner. While at Colonial, I’ve gotten to experience a couple of different roles, most recently accepting a position as the Operations Coordinator. In my spare time, I enjoy playing softball and spending time with my family.

 


 

What are some of your regular duties as Operations Coordinator?

As an Operations Coordinator, my main duty is to provide support for our Operations and Executive team. I gather reports, assist with special projects, and give the Project Managers and Senior Operations Managers another point of contact if they have questions or need assistance. Our Operations team members have a lot to accomplish and my job is to help make their tasks easier.

 


 

What do you like about working in parking?

I would have to say I like the interaction with our guests. Through parking I have met many people from all walks of life and have seen some pretty cool cars. Parking is a customer service driven field and I really enjoy helping, so it was a great fit. Even though I don’t work as closely with customers in my current role, I help our internal teams, so they can better help our customers and clients.

 


 

Why do you like working at Colonial Parking?

I like working at Colonial because we are a company that allows and encourages employee growth. I am proof that if you work hard and show that you’re driven, you are given a chance to excel. Colonial is a place where my coworkers feel like family, and that creates an amazing work environment.

 


 

What do you think makes you good at your job?

I think my personality, my drive and my go-getter attitude have allowed me to be successful at my job. Helping others is always something that I have enjoyed doing, so having the opportunity to help what we call the “heart of our business”, the Operations team, and having learned so much from being in the field and in Customer Care, has made me a well-rounded employee.


 

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job would have to be the people I work with. They have really embraced me and have given me a great work environment. We also have many different cultures embedded into the fabric of the company and we are always growing; getting bigger and brighter.

 


 

What are your goals at Colonial?

My goal is to continue working hard, providing my team with the best that I can do daily, to help the company grow and to continue challenging myself to do and be better.
